All participants are expected to: be strong skiers capable of skiing double black runs under any conditions, have prior touring experience, have glacier and crevasse rescue training, completed AST1 equivalent or better, be adequately fit to skin the 14km approach with a heavy pack and to tour for several consecutive days. Winter camping experience is prefered.

All participants will be screened. If we have not skied together please contact me describing your experience.

Sample Itinerary:

Day 1: Meet at the carpool, drive to trailhead, skin to the east end of Garibaldi Lake, set up camp.

Day 2: Mt Garibaldi

Day 3: Guard Mt and Deception Peak

Day 4: Mt Carr and Castle Towers Mountain

Day 5: Half day ski, pack up camp, ski out, dinner in Squamish

This trip requires a 'Moderate' or lower avalanche danger rating and stable, clear weather, and may be cancelled or postponed if conditions are not favourable.

There is a hut at Sphinx Bay but we will bring tents in case the hut is busy.

Required Items to Bring:
AT or Splitboard, avi gear, glacier and crevasse rescue gear, overnight gear, food for 5 days. Dark Chocolate for the leader.
