Mt St Helens is an amazing place being the
easiest volcano to climb within driving
distance from Vancouver..:)
***Some snowshoers will join us for the trip,
but not for the climb, as they will do some
easy going trail around the trailhead: feel
free to come with your significant other if
they enjoy snowshoeing and good food in
The plan is to drive on Friday(after work) to
Woodland,OR and stay the night
there(there are a few motels in town that you
need to book on your own: use booking.com and
choose free cancelation option as the trip
might get canceled if the forecast is not
good): you could as well camp near the
trailhead, but I won't be doing that..lol
The next day, Saturday, will climb via the
regular winter route: Worm Flows route.
I plan to drive to Portland on Saturday, after
the ski trip, and stay the night there enjoying
the amazing food options they have, but you are
free to do whatever you want, of course. Sunday
we'll be driving home.
This is a trip for intermediate(min of 2
seasons in the backcountry- at least 10 trips)
and advanced BC skiers only. We won't do any
crazy chutes but you should be able to ski
black runs under any type of conditions and
maintain a moderate-fast pace the whole trip.
