We will practice crevasse rescue techniques, with emphasis on the 3:1 Z-pulley system, as well as dressing ropes for alpine ascents. Beginners will be encouraged to focus on 3:1 pulleys and kiwi coils, while intermediate and advanced participants will be free to practice and demonstrate other techniques.

Required Items to Bring:
Harness, two cordelettes (5-6 mm in diameter, one 5 m and the other 1.5 m in length) or your favorite prussic arrangement, 4 locking carabineers, belay device.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Pulleys, ropes, spare Prussiks and locking carabiners for building pulley systems, and slings and locking carabiners for building simulatory anchors.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:We will meet at the tennis courts at Dude Chilling Park, roughly 150 metres northeast of the intersection of East 8th and Brunswick. Feel free to call or email me if you have questions about this event's location.

Participants of all levels are welcome, but priority will be given to people registered to participate in the ascent of Mount Baker on June 15-16 of this year. I will be providing enough material for one 3:1 Z-pulley system: a rope, four locking carabiners, two pulleys, two double-length (120-cm) slings, and two Prussiks. Upon registering for this event, please indicate whether you are able to bring any of the above equipment for setting up further pulley systems and for simulating roped travel.
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in ACC VA events.

Note: If you don't show up we will be very hurt!
