Welcome to the annual En Plein Air hiking/sketching/painting/photographing get-away weekend at Baker Lodge, by the Mt. Baker ski area in Washington State. We try to meet sometime after noon on Fri Sept 20 at Artists Point, and enjoy 2 1/2 days of hiking, scrambling, sketching and painting. - Hikers and photographers are definitely welcome!- The scenery is spectacular with views of alpine meadows, brooks, lakes and ridge-lines, as well as Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan!! The accommodation at Baker Lodge is rustic but quite comfortable. All meals are included except lunch on the first day. (The cooks are also very good at accommodating food allergies.) For more detailed info please EMAIL Lynn at, since we may be travelling.

Required Items to Bring:
Passport for USA border. Sleeping bag and pillow, headlamp, towel, toiletries. Hiking boots and gear for rain or sun, incl water bottle, sunscreen and sunhat. Hut clothes and shoes. Headlamp. Lunch for Friday Sept 20th.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Art gear: pens, pencils, sketchbook, watercolor or acrylics, folding stool, all light-weight for carrying. Camera. Easel. Reference material for painting inside (if it rains!).

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take Hwy 401 east, take Sumas exit to cross border, follow signs to Mt. Baker ski area. Parking for the lodge is on the right-hand side of the road, just past Picture Lake. Artists Point is at the very end of the Mt. Baker Hwy. A parking pass is required there and can be bought at a vending machine on the way up. A pass is not needed when parking in the Mountaineers Lodge Parking Lot.

Cost & Payment:
Member Cost:$130.00/Person
Non-Member Cost:$150.00/Person
Cost Includes:Cost includes Fri and Sat accommodation at Baker Lodge, plus all meals (except lunch on the 20th). The Mountaineers require that we pay the full amount prior to the event. Payment can be made either electronically (by e-transfer to Lynn) or by check. Please email Lynn Erickson ( if you will be sending a check.
DO NOT PAY until you have been notified of your spot for the weekend.
Make a Payment:Although there is a cost for this event, you do not pay through the ACC VA. Please review the event details carefully for information about how/where to make your payment.
