Building on Tuesday's (Feb. 11th's) instruction in crevasse rescue techniques, we will use the fence as an anchor point and practise building 3:1 Z-pulley systems and 6:1 drop loop systems. My aim is to go through these once with rescuers free from the system (for a trial run) before clipping in, making kiwi coils, and more realistically simulating a fall, with rescuers clipped into the system at all times. If time permits, we will review EARNEST anchors, so please bring anchor material (4 locking carabiners and at least one double-length (120-cm) sling). Please note that this is a practice session and not an instructional course. Participants should bring their own knowledge of these systems.

Required Items to Bring:
Harness, chest and foot prusiks (5-6 mm in thickness; not so thin that they will get stuck in the pulleys), two spare chest prusiks for building haul systems, 6 locking carabiners, 2 self-minding pulleys (or equivalent system), one double-length (120-cm) or quadruple-length (240-cm) sling.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
I will bring one 30-m (8-mm) rope. If there are more than three of us, we will need more ropes (preferably 60 m long).

How to Get There:
Event Directions:We will meet at the tennis courts at Dude Chilling Park, roughly 150 metres northeast of the intersection of East 8th and Brunswick. Feel free to call or email me if you have questions about this event's location.

Upon registering for this event, please indicate what equipment you will be bringing with you.
