Our popular Introduction to Backcountry
Skiing &
Splitboarding (IBS)
course is back for 2021.
* Important * Selection is through screening, not your position on the waitlist. Waitlisted participants will be asked to provide a brief summary of their experience and goals for the course, as well as any medical or physical issues they may have. Based on the current provincial health guidelines, 2021’s program will consist of TWO evening theory/practice Zoom sessions prior to our backcountry ski/splitboard weekend sessions in the Coquihalla Summit/Manning Park area on January 23rd & 24th. The weekday evening sessions will run for approximately 3 hours each night, with start times and in-person location TBD (located in the Vancouver area): Tuesday, January 12th: Online introduction/and slideshow presentation (presented via Zoom meeting) Tuesday, January 19th: In-person theory/practice session (following social distancing/mask guidelines) The cost for 2021’s IBS course is $80.00 per person.
Do not pay before being accepted into the course. Upon being moved from the course waitlist to the registered participant list, you will receive payment instructions. Payment is due within one week of being added to the registered participant list. There are NO REFUNDS for participant cancellations from the Introduction to Backcountry Skiing & Splitboarding course. Should you have to cancel your registration after being accepted and paying the course fee, it will be your responsibility to try and find someone to take your spot, contacting waitlisted participants and arranging payment between for the course fee reimbursement between yourselves. However, should this not be possible, please be advised that no refund will be provided for participant cancellation once the course fee is paid. The only circumstances under which refunds will be provided are where the course needs to be cancelled for all participants (ie: changes in provincial health guidelines prevent the ability for us to conduct the course safely). Once accepted into the course, for the payment, e- Transfer to treasurer@ accvancouver.ca Please include a note with the payment referencing to this event (" IBS 2021") and use "V0N1G0" as the password for e- Transfer.
